HISTORIA, "El origen de los DJ"

El origen de los DJ radica a finales de la década de los 60, en donde el desarrollo de la tecnología de sonido y amplificación empezó a competir con la tradicional música de las orquestas imperantes en las fiestas y eventos de la época. No pudiendo competir con el ahorro económico que facilita un solo DJ, con música envasada, liberando espacio para la pista de baile y brindando una mayor potencia de sonido gracias a la amplificación.

Luego con la década de los años 70, la música disco y el desarrollo de discos de vinilo con una mejor calidad de sonido, hizo que los disc jockeys se consolidaran, produciendo también todo el movimiento de los clubs o clubbing que seria el contexto de trabajo de los dj's actuales.

Un disc jockey, deejay, o pinchadiscos, comúnmente abreviado como DJ, es el encargado de escoger, poner y mezclar música grabada en fiestas, discotecas, eventos, en la radio, etc. Aunque la práctica empezó con discos de vinilo, puede llamarse DJ a quien ambienta con música mediante cualquier otro sistema de reproducción, o a través de secuenciadores electrónicos. Actualmente algunos DJ utilizan sistemas de discos compactos o música digital computarizada.
